Great Britain

The highest-friction remote licence in this catalogue. Operators must hold a named remote operating licence, publish an account number, use a UK ADR, and connect to GamStop. We treat a current UKGC number as the baseline for a strong or solid SecScore — not as a promise you will win.

Recourse: Commission register, licensed ADR, and statutory advertising rules. A British debit-card chargeback is still a bank product, not a substitute for the ADR.

Watch for: Skins that borrow a newspaper masthead but sit on a shared group licence. Check the account number, not the logo. A .co.uk domain is not a licence.

Malta / EU-facing

A real regulator with a public register and a complaints function that is slower and less player-tilted than the UKGC. Useful when an operator actually holds it. Useless when a footer says ‘licensed in Malta’ without a number you can look up.

Recourse: MGA Player Support exists. It is not GamStop and it does not cover a Canadian or British player who was never meant to be on that wrapper.

Watch for: Expired certificates, white-label B2B licences quoted as if they were B2C, and UK players being served an MGA site in breach of British point-of-consumption rules.

Curaçao

The default thin licence for offshore casinos aimed at Canada and everywhere-else. The sublicence model has been rebuilt more than once. A Curaçao seal in a footer is not, by itself, evidence of a current, named licensee you can sue.

Recourse: Limited. Chargebacks and crypto rails decide more outcomes than the gaming-control board. We do not invent complaint verdicts to fill that gap.

Watch for: Generic ‘Government of Curaçao’ badges, missing licence numbers, and seals copied from an operator that no longer exists.

Mohawk Territory of Kahnawake

A long-running North American-facing commission that some CA brands historically cited. It is more structured than a bare Curaçao sublicence and less so than the UKGC. We still will not print a Kahnawake number we were not given.

Recourse: The commission publishes a complaints path. Enforcement against an uncooperative offshore operator is still slow.

Watch for: Brands that once held Kahnawake and now sit on a different wrapper without updating the footer.

Anjouan (often as a footer seal)

A frequent stand-in when a brand wants a crest and a PDF. We treat it as a weak signal: better than an obviously fake badge, worse than a register you can search in two clicks.

Recourse: Do not plan a recovery around an Anjouan complaint. Document your own KYC trail and your bank’s process instead.

Watch for: Seals that do not resolve to a licensee search, and PDFs hosted on a CDN with no operator name.

Unknown

Most of the Canada directory in this build. If we cannot cite a number, we leave the field blank. ‘Licensed and regulated’ with no register link is advertising, not a fact.

Recourse: Assume you have the payment method’s dispute process and nothing else.

Watch for: UKGC numbers reused on a Canadian page, MGA numbers on a crypto host, and any seal that does not match the company in the T&Cs.
